Leadership Team
The Leadership Team is the governing body of our local congregation. At Rusk UMC, we operate under a single board model, which offers an efficient and effective way
to communicate the needs of the congregation, plans for the ministry of the church, and decision making on behalf of the congregation. The Team votes on all church matters, but some
members of the team will serve as "point persons" for specific areas of church business. These positions come with both a voice and vote on the board, except for the ex-officio members
which include the pastor and finance manager. This committee typically meets once during the odd months of the year. At this meeting we will hear reports and updates from all ministry
areas. These meetings are open to all participants in the congregation, and the agenda, minutes, financial reports, and subsequent reports are made available to all church members in
the church office. The only time the meeting is closed to non-Leadership Team members is when the Team is meeting with regard to personnel matters.
Chair of the Team: The chair of the Leadership Team is tasked with preparing for, communicating on, and leading the meetings of the Leadership Team. Alongside our volunteer or paid Financial Manager, the financial representative will communicate the financial landscape for the congregation,as well as any financial needs. This person will have knowledge of giving and tithes to the church so extreme confidentiality is required.
